Consent to Participate in Study
I agree to participate in the Online Language Learning Strategies survey. The procedures of this study were explained to me on the previous page by Arielle Carter.
I understand that this research is being conducted for use in a student project for ENG 695: Principles of Second Language Acquisition at Missouri State University. This project investigates the use of language learning strategies in online learning environments. It requires the student researcher to conduct a survey, analyze the results of that survey, and present the results in written form. The information I provide in this study has the potential to help the researcher better understand second language acquisition. I give my permission to the researcher to use information from the study in the paper that she will write for ENG 695 and potentially for derivative uses, such as a degree paper or a conference paper.
There are no known risks associated with participating in this study. I will receive no credit for my participation in it. I understand that the study poses no more than minimal risk and will last approximately 15 minutes.
If I object to any part of the study or become uncomfortable for any reason, I may discontinue my participation at any time without penalty. I understand that my name will not be associated with any information I provide in this research and that my identity will not be revealed in any description, presentation, or publication of this research.
Any future questions I have about this research will be answered by Dr. Tina Biava at 836-5867.
